I told Alchemy this would happen

…he seemed not to believe me (but you can never tell for sure).

Over 6000 smart and brave people from all over the world have signed up to EVOKE change, and hundreds of people are already undertaking the first Mission in social innovation. It’s overwhelmingly awesome, mostly, with a little bit of overwhelming, period. Please bear with us as we try to catch up. We want to read every word and watch every second, and that takes a little time. Whatever you do DON’T lose your enthusiasm…keep the fires roaring… you’ll need them next week, for Mission Two.

Also, do me a favor: set aside a few moments and look at what’s happening. People from all over the world are coming together because they hold knowledge, they want to use it to help, and they want to learn. Every minute there’s someone else signing up and joining in. Click the Evidence button at urgentevoke.com, read a blog post, watch a video. Vote them a Power Point! Leave them a comment. Be part of this awe-inspiring thing that’s happening. You’re watching EVOKE being born – it’s happening right before your eyes.

And Alchemy wasn’t sure it would fly! Hah! He should get out more.  - Calida

Yes, it is all very exciting. I am following this development closely. 6000 within the first day after the official launch is nice. A community is forming, and that is something unique. Extraordinary.

I remember 5 years ago when I was involved with the launching of another site that aimed to bring people together – it was called Our Media (ourmedia.org) and we had so many people coming in and banging on our door that our servers went down for hours at the time.

Luckily, it seems like EVOKE has not encountered that problem, which is great. Good job.

We won’t lose the enthusiasm. We are here, reading, writing, watching, waiting, and eager. Eager to get started. Get started making connections.

Good luck with the rest of your first week!

I think its an awesome idea and even if you have a few technical issues, I am sure you will achieve your main goals. You’ve already made my world a better place!!!
