COMING SOON: Evidence Rewards, and Your Personal Evidence Log
How do I know that the EVOKE Network is capable of changing the world? Because I have more than 2000 pieces of evidence telling me so.
In just 48 hours, you’ve created 2114 blog posts, videos and photos to show off your completed Social Innovation missions. And I don’t want any of your outstanding efforts getting lost. I want every piece of evidence you create to have a permanent place in your service record as an EVOKE agent.
That’s why starting next week, you’ll see a brand new feature on your MY PROFILE page: a personal EVIDENCE LOG.
You’ll use your EVIDENCE LOG to keep track of all of the blog posts, videos and photos you create for your mission objectives.
With the new evidence log, you won’t have to wait for my approval — you’ll receive credit for you mission as soon as you complete it.
HOW IT WORKS:
Whenever you add a new blog post, video or photo as evidence, you’ll LOG IT on your profile page. Simply paste the URL from your evidence into your log. You can swap in a different link later if you create a better piece of evidence.
As soon as you log your evidence, you’ll receive credit for the mission.
Of course, most of you will want more than credit. You want to build up your EVOKE powers.
That’s why, in addition to the POWER VOTES you receive from fellow agents, starting today, you are now eligible for weekly EVIDENCE REWARDS.
We want to honor the most impressive efforts of the EVOKE network. So I’ve authorized my team to awards a total of 10,000 Power Points every week to the agents who submit the most compelling evidence.
They can award the points however they want: A 100-point bonus to 100 different agents… a 50-point bonus to 200 agents… or even 10,000 points to just one agent who amazes us with an unbelievable effort.
TAKE YOUR TIME WITH THE MISSION… and MAKE SOMETHING AMAZING
There’s no rush to finish your missions. You can continue to receive mission credit and evidence rewards even after the next mission has unlocked.
So take your time with your missions. Be creative. Go the extra mile. Amaze the network with your best effort.
Ask yourself: Is your evidence worthy of a 100-point reward? What about a 1000-point reward? Is it worthy of a 10,000-point reward?
Challenge yourself to do more than just receive credit.
Each week, try to do at least one amazing thing — and await your rewards.

Is this a democratization of effort due to the remarkable amount of content people are writing?
I was just pondering about the lag time, earlier today. Good idea to be implemented.
Good decision. From time to time, the ‘best evidence’ could even be highlighted in a special ‘evidence folder’ somewhere? This way it is shared. If there are buttons for social media, it could rapidly be shared across FB and Twitter as well.
Very great idea!
Admins powering up agents without explanation (arbitrarily) and far beyond the powers earned in the network is disappointing. This game has begun to fail.
easy there jeff. this is just a memo. wait until something actually happens to decide whether things are happening arbitrary.
power points are just points… so learn the game, learn the system, win some points of your own. remember, these people aren’t ‘game admins’, in actuality, they are more like competition proctors….
THAT’S IT!
10000 POINTS REWARD GOAL!
I’LL DO MY BEST!
As one of the recipients of a gift of points, I can understand where Jeff is coming from. I don’t really feel worthy of the points assigned me (although it was explained to me why I earned them) and it does greatly skew the points distribution.
I think something needed to be done, however, as there were people ‘gaming the system’ so that they could get the most knowledge sharing points. Making an ‘ungamable’ system is nigh impossible, though. It’s a difficult problem!
I’m a big fan of these changes. I tried to read as much of the “Evidence” being posted here, and it was clear that there was a massive difference between those who had thought about what they wanted to write, to engage others and provoke discussion, and those who basically filled in a couple of sentences or posted photos having nothing to do with social innovation merely to receive points.
I’m here to meet other like-minded people who want to use this as a jumping-off point to inspire action in ourselves and others. Not people who want to use it as their personal MySpace page.
Yeh, I think the administrator points are not a transparent strategy. It would be better if the bonuses were given by all the agents voting or something like that.
Anyway, what are the points for? i am lost, are we running (already) after imaginary carrots?
Thats a great implementation, I have submitted my evidences 24 hrs ago and I haven’t gotten any info on them getting approved or not
I kind of agree about people gaming the system. I have written 6 decent entries and have received 24 points, which I believe is reasonable, but there are some out there that have published dozens of entries that are simply reposts of odds and ends they found on the internet. These people have received many more points despite the fact that they have not put much effort in.
I like the new steps, it gives good content a better chance of being recognized.
lol the competitors don’t understand this ia a game of collaboration. Working together we achieve more than working apart.
As far as implementing this strategy, it is a time saver as content grows and benefits us all.
Save copies of your evidences and major posts “just in case” unexpected things happen.
I wouldn’t mind if 10,000 people each received 1 point merely for creating a stronger social network and achieving the critical mass to really begin effecting change in their real lives. This has been awesome!
I deeply buy the idea but also believe some entries are directly evidential, don’t the they deserve some points too?
greeeat idea!! encouragement for effort and some bonus rewards
Something is very wrong here, and it is affecting my decision to play. I was looking @ the leader board and checking out some of the top players. Several things become apparent i regards to point awards.
-I do believe it is possible to give yourself points extra votes simply by clicking the evidence page. I tried this 1 time myself to see if it was possible. Shouldn’t this be locked to the agent after they submit?
-In looking at the leader board Jake Baird is WAY up there with his points, right? Now go look at his profile. Theres only like 4 entries. Something definitely wrong here.
-I agree with Ian’s assessment (above) and I think in that there should be points for originality.
-And, I see Sean (above) has discovered the same thing I have. I started this with the assumption that it was a “game.” The kinds of behaviors Sean and I are talking about fall into the category(s) of exploits, hax, or downright cheating or unethical behavior.
I can’t edit this anymore, so I’m offering my apologies to Jake. It appears he has two profiles. He can’t delete the original..
Jake is complying with the criteia of the program.
Do I get an “honesty” point?
truly, I’m sorry Jake.

Isn’t it catalyzing the greed within the young people?
Come on guys! Please bear in mind that this thing is not about the reward points that we’ll be able to get! Please don’t get cocky by bearing to our minds about the rewards. Remember that it is still best to share your knowledge and effort without expecting something in return.
To Sean:
I agree with you. Somehow, i’ve realized that those who have made few posts yet decent and highly intellectual have lesser points than those who have made many posts yet the idea is empty. This kind of people were just posting as many as possible to gain points, but not entirely contributing to the EVOKE NETWORK.
Thats good other wise I was stuck up as there was no any response since last 22 hours
I like the idea of the agents having a voting hand in what is the most compelling evidence. And also for the creation of a separate file for compelling evidence that is noticed by the admins that are reading through all this. And I agree that random stuff submitted from the internet is gaming, but I definitely do appreciate watching videos submitted but not created by members that is informational. I think one of the advantages of this whole thing is that a whole group is pulling all this info together, and we as a community filter through it and ultimately act upon it.
All the problems of humanity can be solved by one simple step. Population Reduction Program. Basically, Free Birth control and Free Sterilization available to all humans until the entire world population is 1/10 of what it is today. All of the problems mention on this site and not yet to be mentioned are caused by human overpopulation.
I’ve COMPLETED MISSIONS< BUT STILL NOT GREEN – !!! AAAHHHHH…..help me, alchemy! Cheers, dudes.
)
This is excellent.
Lynneth: In order to get your missions green you have to label your evidence (learn/act/imagine) in the drop-down beneath your blog post. (I just found out!)
How do you define, the most compelling evidence, is quality or quantity based?
We can be confused with the award system, it is clear that it is not fully clear
… we are probably here to test it, to try it, to give ideas for improvement, to play, to enjoy, to contribute…. I am playing this game for my own personal growth and for possibility to learn something that would contribute to the developments in the environment I live. I am already satisfied with the all votes I have received and posts from which I have learned new and different things.
