Certificates and Phishing

Posted by Robert Hawkins on 15 Apr under Uncategorized

Greetings Agents,

A quick update on a few issues that came up this past week.

First, we are in the final processes of verifying information for certificates.  We will soon be distributing the first batches for certificates per the graduating class of 2010.

Second, as part of this verification process, my colleague from the World Bank Institute — Thiru Naidoo-Swettenham –used a new EVOKE gmail account to contact players — called evokeagent.  The use of this account raised phishing concerns among a number of agents and provoked a number of fake messages to be sent to a number of players using evokemanager@gmail and evokations@gmail accounts.  These two accounts were later admitted to have been created by one of the EVOKE players.   If you receive emails from either of these accounts, disregard them.  There have also been concerns about the use of Boxbe and requests for sharing of contacts coming from these gmail accounts.  Please also do not respond to these requests.

The evokeagent account has been closed and all future correspondence on this issue will come from the a worldbank account or posted here on the EVOKE blog.

Thanks very much for you feedback on this issue and sorry for any confusion caused.

should we expect phone calls as part of this process?

For those who judged the Gmail account to be a scam, and deleted it, or ignored it, what do you want people do now so that they can get a certificate mailed to them? Who should they send the information to now that the Gmail account has been deleted? And what information should they send?

Dear Robert, Can we also have a complete list of the prize winners?
We would like this so that we can help each other and also the other evokations that didn’t get prizes in the next steps of developing their projects.
You could put it up heer as a list, same way you did this notification or the class of 2010.
It would be a great help if you could do this

A complete list would be a great help. :)

For all those for whom we still do not have sufficient information to issue the certificate, Thiru Naidoo-Swettenham will contact you via her World Bank account.

We are still receiving confirmations back from the prize winners. Once we have received all confirmations we will post a complete list of the prize winners.

    thanks
